William stood on the dock admiring the large ship before him. He rested his only functioning hand, his left, on the boat's hull and admired the newly painted name that graced the wood. 'Mary Jane'. He smiled at the wooden ship happily, glad that he got her repainted. The wear and tear of the sea had obviously taken it's toll on her. She was a fragile thing. But in battle she was a feisty one. He grinned.
"Completely utterly perfect. That's what you are. You know that?" He realised he was talking to a ship like it was a person, but he was of the opinion that he was allowed to talk to his own ship in such a manner. Of course, he would never dream of doing as such if his crew had returned from shore leave. They would be away a few days, which gave him a lovely little break.from their noise, which he most definitely needed.
He patted the ship once more then head to his boarding stairs to go to his quarters on board to sort out where they would be going on their next voyage.
Navy killing or pillaging? Both seemed attractive. But William had to take money into account. He really didn't have enough resources for either, but he supposed that pillaging would be more beneficial to his cause.
"...well then it's decided," William said as he stepped on deck, still not in his cabin. "Pillage we shall." He said it with slight over-dramatacism; but seemed please with his decision regardless.
